In a world where everything we seem to read predicts doom and gloom in our future, I wanted to find a way of communicating an optimistic outlook for what lies ahead. Although we rely heavily upon technological and scientific advancements in our daily lives, this does not provide us with the comfort and security which we seek. In these pessimistic times, we can receive reassurance from the psychic, supernatural and spiritual. I began researching traditional methods of fortune telling such as palmistry, crystallomancy, geomancy and the art of tasseography (the reading of tea leaves). Focusing on tasseography, I was inspired to create a product that could appear to predict a person’s future.
